A new launch for the Weekend FT

This is a small selection of covers I conceived for The Business, the FT Weekend magazine. At the time we launched it, the internet was just becoming a big story, (I used Google for the first time during my tenure here.) I wanted the design of the magazine to reflect the vibrancy of startup culture that seemed to be everywhere. I frequently changed the logo into a cheeky element on the cover and not just as page furniture. From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the business behind Playboy magazine, we covered it all.

Tasks

  • Hired as launch art director and held post for three years.
  • Art directed all issues.
  • Close involvement with generation of stories.
  • Delegated to senior designer.
